2 apples peeled, cored and chopped
1 cup frozen blackberries
1 1/2 cups kale, packed (stem and stalk trimmed)
1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil over medium heat. Place the apples, blackberries and kale into a steamer basket, in that order, and steam for 10 minutes. Reserve cooking water. Let cool slightly.
2. Transfer the apples, blackberries and kale into a blender or food processor and puree, adding 1/4 cup of reserved liquid at a time, until you have reached your desired consistency.
